CLIFF chante en français...Et nouvelles fraîches.

11/3/2007

Johannesburg March 3 Coca-Cola Dome

Saw Cliff on Saturday night at the Dome in Jo'burg - what a fabulous / fantastic evening!!!  (Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see him when he was in RSA in 1995 but I have seen him live through the years from 1961.)
There were thousands of fans at the Dome - what a night!  We are experiencing a heat wave, I felt sorry for all the cast, but it didn't deter Cliff from dancing as he sang - even at 6,000 feet above sea level.  I hope it doesn't rain for his concert at Kirstenbosch tomorrow and Wednesday nights.
Cliff you've still got it and you always will have your special gift - thanks for sharing it with us for all these years.

Johannesburg March 3 Coca-Cola Dome

My husband and I were also at the 3 March Coca-Cola Dome concert and it was absolutely mind-blowing!!! It was an experience I'll never forget. Must say I've been depressed since yesterday that it's over... If it was in any way possible, I would've been in Cape Town this week! The quality and professionalism of the show was absolutely outstanding. There is just nothing to criticize. Cliff looks extremely well (as always...) and sounded just as great as on his CD's and DVD's. We also enjoyed Cliff's collection of songs a whole lot and there were a few moments where I had to swallow away some tears. The band was also outstanding! I can honestly say, I'm moved by the whole experience.

Thank you very very much for the lovely reviews of Cliff's concert.
So nice and heartwarming to read.
Yes he is a top performer and also a very kind person. Age is not a issue.
Nice to know there are a lot of young fans too.

What great concert reviews.  Did anyone on the forum go to the other South African concerts?  Would love to know how they were.

Johannesburg March 3 Coca-Cola Dome

I was also at the concert on the 3 March and being 25 years of age I am also one of Cliff's "younger" fans.  It was rather surprising to find that I was not the only "Cliff-Crazy" younger fan.  I suppose that there are some of us within our age-group that do have great taste in music!  My mother and I travelled 100km to see him from the gold mines on the West Rand and subsequently only got home at 1:30am!  But it was definately worth it!  However I did meet a couple who had travelled from Malawi to see Cliff in concert so I suppose compared to them, we did not travel far....

What a great show!  This morning I was singing along to my Cliff CDs while driving to work in the early morning Jozi traffic (it usually takes me approximately 3 hours to get to work every morning) and realised that I was one of the few Jozi residents in traffic this morning with a smile on my face.  Perhaps all Cliff fans should lobby for his songs to be played in the morning radio shows...

Anyway, a big thanks to Cliff for returning to South Africa and making my year!

Hi Cliff

Went to Sri Lanka for your concert (my 40th Wedding Anniversary present) - Fantastic -
worth every bit of the long flight from the UK.

Lea

Quand on aime...

Bonne semaine.
A bientôt.

Bon dimanche.
